Who we are

1000Bulbs.com is a privately owned lighting company incorporated in Texas. 1000Bulbs.com carries thousands of items from simple household bulbs to cutting-edge specialty lighting products. Kim Pedersen, founder of 1000Bulbs.com, got his start in the lighting industry in 1979 when he responded to a newspaper ad for a straight commission lighting sales position. Based in Elkhorn, Nebraska, he sold door-to-door throughout the Midwest until 1982 when he relocated to Dallas to work for a national lighting distributor. 13 years later, Kim invested a small amount of savings into starting the company that would become 1000Bulbs.com. The company's first office was in the back bedroom of Kim's home in Mesquite, Texas and consisted of two sawhorses and an old door for a desk.The 1000Bulbs.com web site was launched in 1995. Since that time it has grown to an award-winning business of nearly 100 employees and is still growing.

Content Engagement Manager

POSITION SUMMARY: The Content Engagement Manager reports to the Director of Marketing and is responsible for the development of SEO friendly content, social media campaigns, PR articles, and reputation management. This position will drive inbound organic traffic, develop brand awareness, and increase customer engagement through a well developed understanding of site architecture, keyword generation, search friendly content, link building strategies and metrics-driven optimization.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Analysis of the website and develop recommendations for organic position improvement
  • Keyword research to use in page development, not limited to content, titles, headings, links and tags
  • Development of social media campaigns to increase online customer engagement
  • Create and publish PR articles with an eye towards SEO and brand awareness.
  • Monitor and Manage our online reputation on specific reviews sites as well as blogs, social media, and other electronic channels.
  • Monitor and report on organic positions of top keywords and phrases
  • Blog writing, syndication, and comment moderation
  • Monitor and report on organic revenue, making recommendations on areas of improvement
  • Develop and maintain a social strategy for each channel to grow customer engagement
  • Work with vendors utilizing their tools and optimizing the setup to drive traffic and revenue
  • Internal and external continued education to become the in-house subject matter expert
  • Assist with business goals in relation to SEO strategies and campaigns

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Strong writing skills and an understanding of writing for web
  • Presentation and analytical skills
  • Ability to work closely with team to manage projects and meet deadlines
  • Confidence and know-how to manage projects independently
  • Familiarity with social sites including Facebook, Linkedin, Twitter, and the basics of online social interaction
  • Proven history of writing and publishing online PR materials for publication
  • Able to develop strong working relationships with internal peers
  • Proven ability to develop a plan, define, design, execute, analyze, and present results

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 3+ years of online copywriting
  • General working knowledge of basic web technologies
  • Bachelors Degree in English, Marketing or a related field is preferred
  • Prior experience with analytics tools such as Google Analytics

Job Description: The Inventory Planner/Buyer position includes: Managing the inventory for a defined group of product lines while maintaining excellent working relationships with our suppliers and inter-company departments (including: Accounting, Sales, Customer Service, Warehouse, etc.)

Qualifications:

  • Experience in the lighting industry is a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Highly organized excellent time management skills.
  • 3+ years of previous procurement experience.
  • Microsoft Excel experience, Intermediate Skill Level-is a must.
  • Desktop computer and database applications skills.
  • Ability to solve day to day problems and address normal business issues.
  • Ability to maintain professional customer service based relationship with suppliers and team members.
  • ERP/MRP inventory/purchasing experience.

Specific Skills:

  • Manage forecasts to insure efficient and timely flow of inventory.
  • Issuance of purchase orders.
  • Resolve backorders with timely delivery of product or determining alternatives.
  • Resolve receiving discrepancies.
  • Manage stock levels to ensure consistency with management direction.
  • Ensure data integrity.

Journeyman Electrician

Job Description: The Journeyman Electrician position is primarily responsible for commercial sign work with extensive experience in troubleshooting, controls, lighting, and neon.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Organized and studies work orders, gathering tools and supplies necessary.
  • Follow processes to guarantee quality standards are maintained and business objectives are met.
  • Diagnoses electrical problems by studying diagrams, specs, and troubleshooting systems.
  • Conducts tests and repairs faulty electrical parts and components.
  • Responsible for maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Driving the company bucket trucks and proper setup of elevated jobs.
  • Focused on quality workmanship, thoroughness and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work well under pressure, handling several projects simultaneously.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Experience with bucket trucks, not DOT.
  • Must have a good driving and safety record.
  • Electronics troubleshooting guru.
  • Confidence and know-how to manage projects independently.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Able to develop strong working relationships with internal peers.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 4+ years experience as a paid electrician.
  • Verifiable references and work history.
  • Journeyman Electrician and/or Journeyman sign license.

Customer Service

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Handle inbound customer service calls
  • Process Return Material Authorizations (RMAs)
  • Issue Call Tags
  • Provide high quality customer service and support to maintain and strengthen customer relationships

Skills/Qualifications:

  • Superb telephone etiquette
  • Must be fluent in English with excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient PC and MS Office skills
  • Demonstrate job stability and inbound/outbound customer service work experience
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Use logic and reasoning skills to address and resolve various types of customer calls

1000bulbs.com is currently accepting applications for experienced warehouse personnel for our night shift. We have top of the line warehouse equipment and a great working environment.

We are only accepting applications for the night shift (5pm-1am) Sunday – Thursday.

Minimum two years of experience required. This is a full time position
