Rated 4 out of 5 by Great product with energy savings. These CFL bulbs provide the light that we need in our warehouse and use a lot less energy than the old ones. We didn't need to replace light fixtures since these can be used in a regular base. So far, they have lasted at least 3 times as long as the incandescent ones and hopefully a fair amount longer. This also saves on time and effort in bulb changing which was at least every 3 months or less with the incandescent. It takes a few minutes to reach full brightness but we turn them on and leave them on for the day. July 1, 2011
Rated 2 out of 5 by Good Light - Abnormally High Failure Rate I am a professional lighting manufacturer and energy consultant and have retrofitted 1,000's of fixtures over the years. We had a unique application to replace a few dozen 500W Incandesents and 250 Watt Metal Halides in an office environment with specialty architectural fixtures. We were very limited on options because we needed 4100K, mogul base 120V and the lamp needed to be shorter than 12" in length to fit in the existing fixture, so this lamp was one of very few options. The light output was satisfactory, but we have had about 30% lamp failures within the first 3-4 months. 1000Bulbs has provided excellent customer service and has replaced all the lamps under warranty, but these CFL's have been a maintenance nightmare to keep up with. The customer has asked us to try another brand even if it means going to 5000K. So far we have had good success with the Maxlite and TCP brands, but not with Eiko. I would recommend trying Sunlite, TCP, Global or Maxlite which will likely be better options. I will be replacing the Eiko's with Global 5000K's and hope to have better luck. May 9, 2012
