You can see the filament and it lights up my room beautiful! I do have 4 wall sconces though. If I was only using one or two - it may be a little dim for a living room.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Neil Nice antique glow, but 40 watts not enough
I recently purchased both this Ferrowatt 40 watt bulb (IN-1910N) and the Marconi antique light bulb 60 watt (IN-L4099).
The intended use for this particular bulb was for the front porch, above the door. While the bulb looks great, and gives off a nice glow, it doesn't give off enough light to make it functional. I ended up using the Marconi 60 watt, instead.
This bulb would look great in an antique lamp, or at least someplace where you can use more than one bulb if you need additional light. Had my front porch light taken two bulbs, I think this Ferrowatt bulb would have been perfect.
The downside of using the Marconi 60 watt bulb is that the individual filaments are less distinguishable from afar with the added brightness.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Cubandesign Great color light.
I have been looking for old style filament bulbs for a good 2 months and the FerroWatt 1910 bulb (40W) was the only bulb I found that was not too bright and not too dim. The application was a public restroom in a restaurant, and the light's color is a beautiful warm gold. There is no harsh glare from the filaments at full brightness.
