Rated 3.5 out of 5 by 2 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Really bright, uses very little power; small battery packs can run it I bought a spool of this for Burning Man. Used about half of it on the Art Car and have been using the other half on wearable costumes. REALLY bright, it dazzles most cameras. For this halloween I am running about 20 ft of it on a jacket and top hat and powering it with a small 12v battery pack from a power tool (Milwaukee M12 battery and I dissambled the useless flashlight that came with the tool combo pack to get a battery holder and switch) I am running 2+ hrs on a single pack. Rated 2 out of 5 by the lumination is stricking at night! and can be seen even in daylight this lighting is not for rookies ! every time we we had the slightest bend to follow, some of the solder joints inside would seperate killing the string from that point on making it easy to find the problem but frustrating none the less. Having "crossed the Rubicon" we tried many ways to make reasonable repairs and finially found the most reliable repair. Now that the repairs have been made, the rope mounted and 12VDC source aquired they have not failed October 6, 2011

Mounting Tips

Continuous flexing of rope light may damage its internal electrical connections. To avoid premature failure, mount rope light to sturdy surfaces such as wood or glass and reinforce it with a channel raceway or reflector trim of the correct diameter.

If you must install rope light on an unstable or moving surface such as trees or bushes, it is most cost-effective to use incandescent rope light, which can be replaced at a lower cost than LED rope light.

Movement of frozen rope lights may also damage electrical connections. Avoid installing or re-spooling rope light when temperatures are below freezing. The PVC tubing can become brittle in temperatures below 50 deg. F.

Note on Installation Safety

While 1000Bulbs.com encourages all creative use of rope lights, we assume no responsibility for problems arising from cutting rope light. Professional installation is always recommended.

Special Note on 12V LED Rope Light

This rope light spool is supplied with 3 transformer-ready power cords, each of which have a 1.6 Amp AC to DC rectifier. Splicing these power cords into a 12VAC transformer yields a max run of 24 ft.

For a run of 75 ft., a car battery or DC transformer of at least 5 Amps must be used. If a DC power supply is used, the supplied power cable with AC to DC rectifier is no longer necessary; an ordinary power cord (such as SIV-F102) should be used instead.
