Needed two of these to convert power down for a halogen light my wife bought overseas.
Had back luck at the local supply house, theirs were too bulky and didn't provide enough clearance from the ceiling. They also are known to run hot.
The transformers from 1000bulbs.com fit with room to spare and their have been no shorts or issues since.
