Set it and forget it! The Intermatic EI600C ivory in-wall astronomic timer is the ultimate commercial heavy duty astronomic timer. Designate your current time and date and the astronomic feature will automatically adjust this timer for sunrise and sunset times without the use of a photocell. This 1800 to 4155 watt rated timer can control a variety of electrical components including fluorescent fixtures, high wattage lamps, and electric motors. It allows 40 ON/OFF operations per week with the option of 4 separate programming options and can combine astronomic functions with independent functions for highly customized switching. The timer also features non-volatile memory.

These work as advertised. Now I can run CF bulbs. If we are away for a long stretch, or if the power is interrupted, that does not mess up the program. I was concerned because these don't come with faceplates because you may be putting them into boxes with other switches, but your nearest hardware store will have plates to match. The timer fits standard plates. Programing requires strict attention to the instructions. Each "on" or "off" command counts as a separate program. Once I understood that, the rest was easy. And no I don't do VCRs or clock thermostats.

.I only ordered two, but after seeing how well they work I wish I would have ordered a 3rd one for the back porch. While a bit difficult to set up the phone support from this company is tops and can’t be beat and made the installation easy. I am amazed when I think how this timer is programed to come on at dusk and off at dawn based upon an internal electronic calendar. I did have some difficulty finding a cover plate and should have ordered the cover plate when I ordered the product. Lowes and Home Depot did not have the cover plate I needed however Mennards did.

I have purchased this timer about 20 times so far. I would say 17 of them have worked for more than a year. I tried changing out the bateries, but it did not fix the issue. I'm to lazy to try and figure out how to return bad ones, so I have just absorbed the expense. I will continue to purchase more until the next best thing comes along.

This is a very flexible, programmable timer. It is easy to install and functions as promised. This timer can support a number of different programs and schedules and adjusts schedules to match sunrise and/or sunset if desired. Because if offers so many options, programming can be a little tricky, but overall, it is easy to use.

I installed in my mother-in-law's condo. I used to have to go and change the schedule as the seasons changed. Now the timer does it all year around. Sweet.
