Rated 5 out of 5 by Works Retrofitted old facility with these ballasts, they work very well. If you use them with Alto II tubes, you get both dimming and nice CRI; it makes the rooms look very nice. Make sure to get programmed lamp sockets (unshunted); this ballast does NOT work with instant start sockets (shunted). Also, I was hesistant to buy this since I didn't know if it worked with the installed dimmers (Behringer LD6230). It works fine, just set the dimmer dimming curve to Logarithmic (o2) since at about 20% the ballast slightly flickers. This ballast will also work with straight linear dimming dimmers, but anything below ~20% just looks ugly (flicker within the tube). January 25, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Good stuff! WARNING: Make sure you have TWO YELLOW LINES (one for each bulb) in your fixture for this model!! I burnt out a pair of brand-new bulbs because of this! The former ballasts I had somehow got away with paralleling BOTH yellow lines, in this ballast this creates a SHORT! If one of your bulb sockets has a jumper going to the other, remove it and connect it to the second yellow wire from the ballast. I learned the hard way, if something doesn't look right, CALL THE MANUFACTURER. I am hoping I did not permanently damage my Mark 10 ballasts but only time will tell. Aside from that they work just as intended, but don't go all willy-nilly with the dimming switch, I was told you can damage the ballasts by repeatedly and rapidly changing the voltage sent to them. You will need: A Mark 10-compatible powerline dimmer, Lutron has a good selection of these. The tombstones (bulb sockets) must be RAPID START. These will have 2 connection ports on either side of the tombstones. Some way of grounding the ballast to the fixture frame. In my case this was accomplished just by mounting the ballasts where the previous ones were. Hope this helps. January 3, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by A brand you can trust. This was used for a special dimming system. Works great! March 26, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by great dimming I used this to control two 30 watt tubes over work island. The dimming is amazing. It has yet to fail or not work but I've only had it a few months. I feel it will work for a long time because of the quality product. There is no blacking of the bulb ends and this means longer life. Don't forget to make sure there is a grounded plane within 3/4 inch of the bulb makes starting easier. Great! Will be buying a few more for indirect lighting project. June 9, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by Dimmable fluorescents This product is perfect if you need to dim Fluorescent T8 lamps, It doesn't have the capability to dim down as much as a incandescent light bulb but is perfect for lowering from a harsh bright to a low glow, I used them to dim cove lighting in a living room. Don't forget this product will only work with a Mark 10 fluorescent dimmer June 8, 2011
