Rated 5 out of 5 by Solid 4 Pin 2G11 socket. I was a little surprised when I received the 4 pin 2G11 socket bases. I was expecting, and lets be honest, some flimsy cheap piece of plastic that would allow the lights to work. What I received was a solid and sturdy socket base. I love the 2 way mounting these provide. But be careful not to tighten the screws too tight as it will crack unless you ordered a spare or two, then use a power screwdriver. =). I didn't break mine as I only ordered what I needed. Also the socket base alone may not bear the full weight of the bulbs so keep that in mind when ordering. April 23, 2012
Rated 3 out of 5 by Worth buying, just needed more information There are a few things that should be mentioned about these sockets. 1. They do not support the weight of the 55w bulbs at all if mounted horizontally. There are clips that need to be purchased in order to keep the bulbs from falling out. 2. The wiring is pretty easy, although it should be noted somewhere that the optimal size wiring is a solid core 16g wire. My local home improvement store only carried 14... October 7, 2011
