Rated 5 out of 5 by Nice kitchen lighting Used in our kitchen with a 9' ceiling. Works very well and the long life is a benefit as the kitchen lights are on more than any other light circuit in my home. October 28, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great price, excellent customer service I work in a model home and have 17 recessed cans spread out throughout my own house as well, so I have a little experience with BR40 bulbs. The bulbs you'll find at Home Depot or Lowe's are max rated at about 2000 hours, for $5 per. It gets pretty annoying when you go out and buy a bulb to replace the dead one, then a couple of days later another one goes out. I'm very familiar with Satco bulbs. Being in the new home business, our lighting contractor installs Satco bulbs and I've been very impressed with their long life. Our model home was built in 2007, and I've only had to replace two Satco BR40 kitchen bulbs in four years. Remember, model home lights are ALWAYS on during the day, to the tune of 9-12 hours a day. Can't use compact fluorescents because they give off a harsh and unflattering light, not the kind of impression you want to make to prospective homeowners. I've put in other bulbs (specifically, the brand-name kind you buy at HD or Lowe's) and they always go out within several months. This is a huge pain in the butt when dealing with two-story ceilings. For less than the cost of the retail bulbs, I bought several 5000-hour bulbs from 1000bulbs.com. They were delivered quickly, but a couple of the bulbs were broken. NO PROBLEM, as their customer service department replaced them within a couple of days, no questions asked. I'm very pleased that I won't have to change bulbs out as often, and that I'm not wasting time travelling back and forth to the store for more expensive and shorter-lasting bulbs. I couldn't be happier with my purchase, and all of my future lighting needs (personally and for the office) will be taken care of by 1000bulbs.com. June 7, 2011
