I bought this to keep a small herb garden for the winter indoors. For the broad leaf herbs it works well . However, the narrow leaf plants need the lamp closer and it gives off too much heat when it gets close enough to effect thier growth. Still using it for the big plants and it works fine.

We purchased these because they are cheaper than buying name brands in local stores but we find they do not last very long. Not the best product in the world.
