This is a great bulb with a very long life. I liked the previous differently-shaped flat top bulb better because it was different and looked better in the clear-panel outdoor fixtures I use it in. At the front door the bulb gets a real workout with that light having both dust/dawn and motion sensors and a two-level brightness built into the fixture, giving more light every time someone comes in range. So it's off and on and up and down all the time, but the bulb still lasts forever. These are great bulbs and the crystal affect makes them especially decorative on outside lights.

I have used this bulb in my outdoor lights for years. It is durable and works better than any other bulb that I have used for these fixtures.
