Rated 4 out of 5 by Good Value This is a great value as the price is about 50% of the going price for this item. The only negative I see is the starting time is about 1 to 2 seconds from when you flip the switch. I have found that this is slow compared to other brands. In checking with the manufacturer they tell me they have corrected this problem in a newer version. Also the color of the light is not quite as true as halogen bulbs but this is true with all brands. Overall I would say it is worth buying this product because the price is right May 3, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Good color, brightness, and dispersion; slight hum I bought three of these bulbs to start replacing the 65 W Sylvania BR30 floods throughout my house -- more for the convenience of not having to replace difficult-to-reach bulbs in future than for the energy savings. I chose the 2700K color temperature because I wanted the LED bulbs to blend well with the existing incandescents, and because my wife prefers redder light. I've only installed one of these so far, in a stairway. To my eye, the LED bulb is a pretty good color match to the incandescent, but just a tad whiter. Also, brightness and angular dispersion are quite good. So far, the only downside is that I can hear a hum when standing directly under the bulb. In general, the hum is too quiet to be noticeable in my house during waking hours, but it might get annoying in a really really quiet house. April 25, 2012
