We used 11 of these to transition from fluorescent tube to recessed cans and couldn't be happier with the results. They work prefect on a LED compatible dimmer. The residual heat is next to none and the covering of each bulb is plastic so they are safe for a commercial kitchen environment with no glass that could shatter.
Further, the dramatic look that the lighting creates over fluorescent has enabled us to open up our kitchen to be visible from the dining room. The color of the light and intensity really make a commercial kitchen look like a showpiece.

This product would be fine if all the bulbs actually worked. I received five bulbs. One bulb worked for about 9 months before it gave out. One bulb was defective upon arrival. The other three worked fine: the light is bright and warm. Unfortunately, the bulbs did not work well with our dimmers (they would strobe), but I suspect our dimmers are the problem there. I don't know if I had a bad lot or just bad luck, but either way, I will not buy more of these.

Rated 4 out of 5 Great Price, good light output, had issues with dimmers.
I wanted to try this bulb primarily because of the price. I got 7 for a kitchen. I had a basic dimmer that did not dim the lights. The homeowner said that after a day, it became a disco! When I went back with an LED rated dimmer, it would only work on full brightness. Any change in the dimmer made it strobe. I would use these bulbs again as long as there was no dimmer involved. We will see how long they last. 1000 bulbs is always fantastic!

I replaced 18 lights with this bulb. It is brighter and a little more white in color but if you have high ceilings it will even it out. I don't have it on a dimmer currently.

I've got six reccan fixtures in my kitchen which we had replaced with those bad curly cfl bulbs. What they don't tell you is that it takes about 2 seconds for those bulbs to turn on, and then they are very dim for the next 60 seconds. These bright babys come on in about 1/2 second and they are nice and bright by comparison, all the while using less energy and lasting longer.

After mounting the bulbs in our recessed cieling fixtures and turned them on I was very pleased with this purchase. They have the look of the 65 watt incandecent floods they replaced and provide 85 watts of light for the 14 watts they use. I will be ordering more energy saving bulbs in the near future. Thanks 1000Bulbs.
