The bulb is energy efficient, using up to 80% less energy than a standard halogen replacement and has smooth dimming from 100% to 0.5%. This bulb absolutely met my needs and expectations. I use 4 of them to light up my kitchen. It gives the nice clean, very white ~4000°K light. Second, it is truly a flood light, with great dispersion. Third, it's output is as expected, and with a dimmer (this bulb is dimmable), I can have the kitchen brightly lit when needed, and only dimly, but uniformly lit, when that makes sense. It appears to be well made and rugged. I have no way of knowing, at this time, if it will last the rated 50,000 hours.

I have replaced the half of my lights with this bulb. My wife used to complain the house was too dark, now, it is like daylight even in the middle of the night. We had fluorescent bulbs that took forever to warm up, these are instantly on. Have gone ahead and ordered enough to replace the rest of my lights. Can't comment on energy savings just yet, but so far so good.

LED lighting has come a long way... These lights give a good amount of light that is well dispersed with no hot spots...
I would heartily recommend these to anyone and everyone... I gave the "value" only 4 stars because they are still a little pricey but I'm sure the price will come down but I couldn't wait...
