We have been using LED since 2006-7...buying everything, checking the color temperature...and how it performs...
about 90% of our home is LED....we use these in every down light...and they are fantastic...I wish Permlight still made their fixtures...we designed around them, then they went away...
there stainless steel ones were awesome...I have a downlight and an eye ball in our media closet...they too 'are/were' great lights...Love these Cree down lights

I highly recommend this product. Installation is a snap. I installed four of them in my kitchen ceiling in about 15 minutes and that includes travel time to garage for my step ladder! The brightness and color temperature are right on. And there's no painful warmup period like with CFL floods! Pricey? Yes. Worth it? I say absolutely...

I bought 12 of these for our kitchen and bathrooms. Absolutely terrific light and I saw the electric bill drop dramatically as they replaced 75 and 100 watt incandescent floods. When you do the math it works very well. I have had these for about 2 years with no problems.
I installed them myself, it's a little messy and attaching the ground wire can be a pain depending on the type of can you have. You will need to fool around with the can a little bit to get a nice tight good looking fit in the ceiling but when its done they look great and I really like the light quality better than incandescant.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Rooney Excellent recessed flood light
Light is bright and well diffused, unlike other "floods" I've tried that are more spot. The lens gives off a great glow instantly and doesn't require a warm-up like fluorescent and doesn't appear to yellow like they do as well. Dimmable range seems comparable to fluorescent as well, but not as capable as an incandescent (of course). A little pricey, but if lifespan is accurate, it will pay for itself in energy savings making it a no-brainer. (I estimated a net-savings of about $80 over its lifespan)

the concept is great, and the execution is good. Now we just need a little price drop and the product will dominate

Rated 5 out of 5 This product demonstrates that the future of lighting is LED
I am very impressed--the Cree LR6s demonstrate how good LEDs can be. They are at least as bright as 75 watt BR30 incandescent floods and the color is almost indistinguishable from incandescent. The light is uniformly distributed with no hotspots. I installed them in my living room, which has 16-foot ceilings, with the expectation that it will be a long time till I need to bring out the 13-foot stepladder again. The energy savings (11.5 watts compared with 75 for the incandescents) are gravy.
