Definitely good if you are a beginner like me. But as plants get bigger you will need to buy more. This is good for short plants. I had to buy a second one because one wasn't enough. I already have plans to go up to 400-600 watts.
You will need to hang these from your ceiling or a closet rod depending on your situation. So have some chain or wire before you get these or add them to your cart because you'll be making a trip to Lowes or Home Depot!
These do get hot if they're in a closed room with no circulation. So make sure you have a fan. I bought a small fan and put it on a TV tray about 12 inches away (lights hung low from ceiling) and just pointed it at the ballast.
These work good with timers.
Would recommend for 4 small plants or one medium plant.
*Note These are very bright and will put off a noticable ominous glow radiating from your windows at night.
