This mogul base socket has a porcelain body that is gray glazed with ceramic arc shield, allowing for more heat resistance. The 14 AWG, glass braid SEW-2 lugged leads are rated for 200 degrees Celsius and 600 volts. They are 12 inches long and stripped 1/2 inch for convenient installation. The socket features a durable, nickel-plated copper alloy screw shell and bushing. It is pulse-rated, so it is ideal for use with any mogul base pulse-start metal halide bulbs.

If you want to mount the socket get some 8-32 screws and nuts. Available at any hardware store.

The item arrived in a timely manner, was an exact replacement for the metal halide fixture, and it was a good value. This is a hard to find item.

What more can you say about an HID socket...it fit the housing and wired up fine. Service was great all around.

Sturdy, well built socket. It would be better if it came with mounting screws. Metric sizes are not common local hardware store items in the US.
Re-tapped to 10-32 was a quick fix for me.
